Here is the reality (as of
3/1/02)
The terms and conditions of this exclusive home video release
are strictly as follows.
(a hard film... a hard release)
1.You had until the published street date
(now two months passed)
to email us at
satantango@cinemaparallel.com
to reserve your copies.
2.We ended up releasing this on 4 VHS tapes
rather than the 3 that we intended
... the original price was
89.00 per tape or $270.00 for three. After further technical advice, we
did not go with LP speed (and drop the image quality to get it on three
tapes) so, we went to 4 tapes at the same cost for those who met that dead
line. However, under article 8 we still have some tapes to sell.
They will be sold at $360.00
for the 4 set or 89.95 each for Home Video use ONLY.. University or library
copies will be sold under a different agreement
3. This exclusive release will only be via the internet
and this web site.
4.All tapes will be numbered and electronically identified.
5. As a prior condition of this sale you will sign a separate
agreement, not to ever copy this tape, even for private use. If a tape is
defective or becomes damaged during the first three years after this release
we will replace it at no cost upon the return and inspection of the original
damaged tape.
6. If you allow bootlegs published from your tape, and
we identify you as a source tape, you will have agreed, as a prior condition
of this sale, to return the original tape, plus pay the producers (Vega
Films and Canal Plus) and the distributor (Cinema Parallel) for the full
list price of all the dubs illegally made from your numbered tape PLUS $200.00
per tape.
7. We will ONLY make as many copies as are requested on
or before the date of the pre-book
As of today (3/1/02) there
are some sets which were ordered by the pre-book date and which we produced
but we have not received payment ... So, they are STILL FOR SALE, under
the same terms here stated and covered in article 8.
8. If your pre-payment is not received before the street
date then any remaining copies will then be sold to those on a waiting list.
9.This offer is exclusively for HOME VIDEO in North America
and NOT for universities and libraries. That requires a separate license
and application to the above email.
